London: London Printing & Publishing, c. 1870. fair. 29 cm, 287, v.3 only, illus. (1 engraving separated but present), boards worn/soiled, hinges cracked, some foxing to text & engravings. Spine chipped at top and bottom. This appears to be a mid-nineteenth century edition. The engravings include: Napoleon I; Louis XVI. Threatened by the Mob on their visit to the Tuilleries June 20th, 1792; Queen Victoriaat the Tuillieries; Queen Victoria Investing Napoleon III with the Insigniaof the Order of the Garter, April 1856; The Chevalier Bayard Wounded at theSeige of Brescia; and The Burgers of Calais Before Edward King of England.
