Spines with 6 gilt decorated compartments and leather title labels. Text-block edges are red. Profusely illustrated with "portraits, maps, and plans" many of which are fold-out and several in color. From the estate of D.M. Coffin with his engraved bookplate at the front paste-down of each volume. The set is in VERY GOOD condition showing only marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, spines lightly tanned and rubbed, the front endpapers up to the title pages of some volumes are lightly foxed, otherwise the bindings are strong and tight, the text-blocks remain bright and exceptionally unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. A beautiful set. As pictured.
