First Edition. Fine. Embossed gilt pictorial cover is in mint condition, as is the gilt title on the spine. Corners are square and the pages are clean and unmarked. Genreal James Hamilton, from South Carolina, never set foot in Texas, but was a large financial and diplomatic supporter of Texas in it's early days.
