About This Item

(Hereford: Hereford Herd Book Society, 1968). Facsimile reprint of the Vinton revised edition of 1909. 8vo; original salmon-coloured cloth, lettered in gilt on spine; no dustwrapper; pp. xvi + 501, incl. index; plates. Cloth ever so slightly rubbed; small felt pen mark to front free endpaper; occasional fox spot. Very good condition. "The present work is confined to matters which more immediately relate to the Hereford breed, whose importance and popularity seemed to merit attention from the Live Stock historian. We have dealt at considerable length on the operations of leading early breeders, and this has been done with the object of throwing light upon the origin, composition, and extension of the improved Hereford." .
