London: R.H. For Arthur Jones, at the Flying-Horse, 1686. Panelled spine with old leather label. Both joints professionally repaired. Hinges re-inforced. Front free endpaper repaired at lower edge. . Old ink inscription on front flyleaf. Heraldic book-plate of ther Hare of Docking on front pastedown. Title-page printed in red and black. Previous owner's names in old hand. Small brown stain at bottom, affecting the "o" on London. Done into English by Dr. Nalson. (20), 410 pages collated complete. Light water-stain at lower corner and fore-edge of pp. 43-48. Paper imperfection p.279. Occasional creasing. Wide margins with occasional foxing at periphery. The first edition was published one year earlier as "The History of the Crusade". See Wing M291. British Museum Catalogue #4570. We find seven libraries worldwide holding this book. One copy has sold at auction in the past 30 years, a broken copy in 1996. The author (1610-1676 was a Jesuit historian. . Second Edition. Full Brown Contemporary Calf. General Cover Wear. Small Folio 13" x 8".
