Volumes 1 and 2 are a history of the state from earliest times, volumes 3, 4 and 5 are short biographies of prominent Kentuckians, many with accompanying portraits. Includes an extensive index in volume 1. Bindings in all are intact. Volume 5 lightly cracked at page 399. Blue cloth boards with gold stamping show fading over spine with fraying at head and tail of spine and at corners. Volumes 3, 4 and 5 are lightly soiled. Volume 3 has a small scuff at front. Marbled endpapers and edge of text block. Head and tail bands. Cloth reinforced hinges. Texts are lightly tanned but appear otherwise clean and unmarked. No dust jackets.
