S. Low, Son & Marston. B00086DKVW 1865 S. Low, Son & Marston hardcover. First edition, but not the first printing. Red cloth with gilt figure on the front and gilt lettering/design on the spine and gilt edges. 460 pages, generously illustrated in black and white and with single color plates. About 85% of the spine is present, giving the impression of some chipping at the base and rear part o the spine. Tips rubbed, red cloth dye generall faded. The text is generally very good with some infrequent foxing. Good overall, giving some some allowances for the age, as is usually done. . Good.
