First printing of this edition. Very good book in good dust jacket. The finish coating is separating at the top on the back of the dust jacket; otherwise, very good. Dust jacket now in a new removable protective cover. Black boards, quarter bound in red cloth, with gold print on the spine. No markings inside, binding is squaare and tight. Acid-free paper. Dorset hard cover with dust jacket, 1986, 1st printing (complete number line), ISBN: 9780880290814. 334 pages. 8vo (5.25" x 8.25") Edited with an introduction and notes by David Hey. Reprint of a 1981 Penguin Classics mass paperback; first printing of this book was in 1834 at the Middle Hill Press in Worcestershire by Sir Thomas Phillips. Before that, the manuscript was kept in the family for one hundred years after its completion in the early 1700s. Droll descriptions of the families and everyday life of the small town of Myddle, in Shropshire, in 1700.
