The Lewis Publishing Co.. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1905. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Original three quarter leather and black pebbled clothboards rubbing to extremities, worn on points. Spine leather rubbed but gilt title bright, front boards of both volumes are separated along spine edge but firmly attached as inner hinge is intact. Volume I has 1/2" chip near lower spine. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers, securely bound and straight, still a solid set that just needs some tightening. Two-volume history of early California containing numerous biographical sketches with portraits and original tissue guards. ; MCN26652; 1199 pp .
