Spine leather rubbed but gilt title bright, front boards of both volumes are separated along spine edge but firmly attached as inner hinge is intact. Volume I has 1/2" chip near lower spine. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers, securely bound and straight, still a solid set that just needs some tightening. Two-volume history of early California containing numerous biographical sketches with portraits and original tissue guards. ; MCN26652; 1199 pp .
