About This Item

Aberystwyth: Printed for the Author and Sold By J. Cox, Pier Street,. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1849. First Edition. Hardcover. "With A List Of The Members For Both County And Boroughs From The Reign Of Henry VIII Down To The Present Time" (1849) . And Bound with "Upon the Office of Ragler, formerly existing in the County of Cardigan, in South Wales. By Henry Ellis, Esq. F. R. S. Secretary, in a Letter addressed to the Right Honourable the Earl of Aberdeen, K. T. President. From Archaeologia Vol XXII. (states 1929 but that is a misprint for 1829). In the Original dark Green cloth-covered boards with blind-stamped decoration to the corners and borders and bright gilt titling to the front board. Some marks, spots and scuffing to the corners, but presents quite well and is sound and hinges tight. Plain yellow endpapers with a former owner's name in old ink on the front pastedown (John Davies). Some small calculations in old ink on the top of the title page. Some light foxing/discolouration to the very edges of the pages and some general tanning to some of the pages but not all - the paper quality obviously varies. At the very end of the book is an inserted small leaf with Corrigenda. 34 pp including large fold-out pages/charts. Overall for its age a very good minus, sound tight copy. See Images . ; Slim 4to 10" - 11" tall .
