Complete in 14 fully populated pages, containing 84 strips (80 with three fabric examples, 4 with 2 fabric examples) - from The Most Noble Order of the Garter, 1334, to Coronation, 1911. 4to. 8 3/4" x 9 3/4", 7 leaves of die cut card stock folded to 14 pages with perforations for 6 strips per page. Blue cloth with gilt spine and cover titles, "Spink & Son, Ltd." in tiny gilt at heel, full page Spink & Son ad on page 15. Ownership bookplate of noted medals and decorations collector Joseph Warren Cutler (1857-1934) on pastedown. 3/4" loss to the cloth at the spine head, wear at the heel and tips, some age toning to the paper. All strips and riband examples near fine. A rare publication and extremely rare to find with the entire 14 pages populated with riband examples. Very good overall. . Hard. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to.

LONDON: Tho Roycroft for Richard Blome, 1673 A fair copy of the 1st edition sadly lacking all but 2 of the maps. This work is rare. Richard Blome was heavily criticised at the time for producing the work - being accused of plagiarising Camden and Speed. He funded the work through subscribers but clearly sold few copies and ownership of it passed to John Wright in 1677. His work is now being reassessed and he is recognised for being the first to properly plan an illustrated description of London. This copy is in contemporary full leather binding which has been rebacked reasonably recently to provide a new spine with raised bands and gilt outlined title label. The boards have wear as you would expect - particularly to the corners - but are sound. Publisher's half dark green leather with marbled boards, endpapers and edges, 5 gilt decorated raised bands on spine, gilt lettering in two of the compartments on the spine, gilt decoration in the remaining four. The first eight volumes are dated 1803, with the remaining eight volumes dating from1812 to 1827. . Leather spines are brittle and chipped with some loss at the heads of the spine on about five of the volumes, rubbing but no loss at the bottom of the spines and the tips, hinges are rubbed, but holding, former owner's name in elegant cursive at top of title page, else unmarked, square and clean.
