About This Item
Complete, Vols. 1 and 2 in one. Full leather; owner's name gilt-stamped in black label on front board, marbled endpapers. Good +: some abrasions and water/ink stains on front board, some abrasions on rear board, some corner bumping and a fair amount of foxing, but binding is sound, all pages present, intact and untorn; overall in very serviceable condition. Photos show foxed pages, but not all are so foxed.
Second US Edition of John Howard Hinton's (1791-1873) famous and comprehensive History, in the production of which he was encouraged by Washington Irving, to whom it is dedicated. A fascinating and detailed look into a United States of 27 states whose vast territory is mostly inhabited by "savages."
This is a large and heavy book: domestic shipping $8.00; please enquire about international shipping costs.
