New York: Scribners, 1906. Limited edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Vierge, Daniel. 4 volume set, each one numbered (#33) from the first 140 copies printed on Imperial Japan paper, with two additional full page illustrations (one each in volumes 1 and 4) and with "extra prints, before letter, of all the full page illustrations." From a total edition of 1150. 4to, 3/4 ivory leather over cream cloth decorated in gilt. All edges gilt. Lavishly illustrated throughout by Daniel Vierge with tissue guarded plates and in-text drawings. Introduction by Royal Cortissoz. The entire edition for the United States was 985 with another 165 copies separately numbered and imprinted for publication in Great Britain by T. Fisher Unwin. Fingering marks on spine leather (which might be cleaned entirely off), else fine, without previous owner's names or bookplates. Quite scarce thus. The illustrations are beautifully reproduced on this "Imperial Japan" paper.
