Illustrated, including frontispiece portrait from Loren Barton drawing of William Griffith Henshaw; facsimilies of Spanish land grant and Warner documents and maps. Preface by Professor Herbert E. Bolton. Red cloth. 7 1/2" x 10 3/4". Appendices. One of 1000 un-numbered copies of the first trade edtion. Prepared as a Memorial to banker William Griffith Henshaw. His last project was the development of a water supply for an arid area of San Diego County, including Lake Henshaw, constructed at Warner's Ranch. This book is the history of Warner's Ranch, from the Native Americans through the Californios and the ownership of pioneer J. J. Warner to Mr. Henshaw's acquisition in 1911 and development. A Fine copy in a Near Fine dust jacket (slight edgewear; rear cover taped abrasion), now in a clear mylar protective sleeve.
