This is a studied story, gathered from letters, diaries and journals, of dreams held, hardships endured, fortunes found and lost, from their initial trek to life in bustling mining settlements. Text, following a prefactory historical introduction, is presented chronologically in 6 parts: I, 1862: The Holmes & Fisk Trains; II, 1863: The Fisk Expedition; III. 1864: The Holmes & Fisk Trains; IV, 1866: The Holmes & Fisk Trains; V, 1867: The Davy Expedition; and, VI, 1862-67: Wagon Train Rosters, followed by 7 route maps.
