First edition, in near fine condition. Binding is tight, pages are clean, top edges are gilt. Bookplate on front pastedown page. A history of the regiment, an irregular light cavalry named after its leader, Stephen Hodson. The regiment included British military soldiers as well as many Sikhs from the Punjab region. Includes nine black-and-white illustrations, six plans in the text, and eight clean and crisp folding maps. 8vo. 402 pp. including six appendices, a glossary of Indian terms, and an index.
