Oxford; Printed by John Baskett, , 1727.. 1727 4to. Unpaginated. There is a portrait facing the title of the Common Prayer. The Cole title is bound before the general title to the Bible and 204 plates on 51 leaves are inserted in the appropriate places through the biblical text. Later black calf binding, the boards panelled with gilt rolls and corner tools. The spine with raised bands and gilt pallets. Rubbed on the edges and corners and an old damp mark at the top of the rear board, not visible on the text leaves. Marbled endpapers. Occasional headlines or catchwords trimmed by the binder. The paper shows spotting or toning as the sheets vary through the volume. There is a specially printed presentation leaf bound before the Common Prayer 'The GIFT of Mr. James Hudson,to His Godson JAMES CRISP.April 16. MDCCXXIX.' and two sheets of genealogical information at the end of the volume, much of it concerning a related family named Agg. A handsome example of an extra-illustrated Georgian King James Bible.
