Good. 0ver 1100 pages in this stocky 3x5" book full leather bit loose and worn but not too bad embossed leather gold circle on front no date but from mid 19th c.

With 48 colour plates and 7 maps. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. 4to. Names written in the family section to the middle of the book - The Family of William and Mary Hepden with the date of their marriage 14th February 1953 and the dates of the births of their twins in August 1957, their first communions and confirmations. Parallel text columns. A handsome, heirloom Bible. A large and very heavy volume which will require an additional charge for overseas delivery.

Fully bound in brown calf's leather with gilt titles on spine, blind embossed decorations at edges. Pica Imperial 8vo (approximately 10 by 6.5 by 3.25 inches). A large and very heavy volume which will incur an additional charge for overseas delivery. Leather is worn with a few mild scuffs, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a little crumbling at base of front joint, rubbed around spine. Text block edges dust darkened. A little spotting on prelims. Extensive manuscript notes on front and rear blank pages, on the Bible and the Kingdom of Israel, in an apparently contemporary hand. Otherwise internally neat, clean and tight. A handsome and imposing volume.

All edges gilt. Deep brown endpapers. Blue satin marker bound in. Printed in Comfort Text ion traditional Bible Paper. Small 4to. Illustrative card pasted onto front free endpaper. Satin ribbon marker a little frayed at edge, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Presented in a bright blue card slipcase. The slipcase is lightly rubbed along edges in places and at corners, slightly scuffed at base of opening. A very handsome volume, with easy to read sized text, presented a protective slipcase.

Clasp worn, boards rubbed, upper joints split but tight, beautiful period inscription to first blank, overall a very good copy.. 852 pp.; 259 pp. Illus. with two engravings with tissue guards. 32mo. (11 cm). Added title page, engraved. OCLC lists no copies of the 1840 edition or earlier. There are two copies of a 1841 edition under the imprint of Morrill & Silsby at Harvard Divinity School and the NH Historical Society. A Polyglot Bible in 1843 was published by Stearns. The name Edward Fornis in gilt on one board. Scarce New Hampshire imprint.
