Edinburgh: Sir D. Hunter Blair and J. Bruce, 1811. 12mo (6.25" x 4") Two vols. Limited edition of 25 copies on large paper. Printed general and New Testament title pages (1811) within ruled border. Text in two column Roman font with large margins throughout. Issued without Apocrypha. Each volume with a lovely hidden fore-edge painting. Volume 1 (OT) with "Abraham's Sacrifice of Isaac" and volume 2 (NT) with "The Resurrection."

Collation

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Zzz^8, Aaaa-Ffff^8. Complete.

Binding

Straight-grained double-paneled red morocco. Boards decorated in blind and gilt rolls. Spine with three raised bands, elaborately tooled in gilt with the letters "The Holy Bible" and "Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2." Silk endpapers. Inner dentelles. All edges gilt.

Condition

Binding lightly rubbed to joints and edges; gilt lightly scratched. Pages are crips, clean and bright. A near-fine copy of a limited edition work on large paper.
