First edition. Octavo. Original silver stamped maroon cloth; yellow endpapers. Dust jacket designed by Barlow (unclipped; few nicks and short tears). Very good. Signed and inscribed by Wells in black fountain pen ink on the title page: "To Robert Lusty, with best wishes, H.G. Wells." Bookplate of Robert Lusty on the front free endpaper. Robert Lusty was a director of the Hutchinson Publishing Group, Michael Joseph Publishers and governor the BBC. Hutchinson published Wells books "The Shape of Things to Come" 1933; "Bulpinton of Blub" 1932.
