Honoré de Balzac mennesket og kunstneren en kildestudie. [Illustrated]. 8vo, original gilt stamped blue cloth (minor rubbing), fine floral marbled endpapers, frontispiece portrait, pp. 275 + 3 plates, a.e.g. Copenhagen: Gyldendal boghandel, 1893.
First Edition. A biography with bibliographical references. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author, "Monsieur Emile Zola homage de l'auteur. Paris 29 Avril 93." Pasted below the inscription is the author's Paris business card. Erik Lie (1868-1943), was a successful Norwegian writer of adult and juvenile fiction, as well as scholarly works on literary history. This son son of the famous novelist Jonas Lie was a respected journalist, and founder of the Nordic library in Paris.
