About This Item
NY: Scribner's, 1883. First Edition . Hardcover. Second state, with the frontispiece being a classroom scene. Very good+ in the original brown cloth. The lower corner of the page block has a dampstain evident only through the preliminary pages and the first two pages of text. Slight wear to spine ends; small residue of paper on front pastedown. The spine is slightly sunned, but otherwise a relatively nice copy of this much reprinted classic.
