About This Item
Philadelphia: Porter & Coates. Fair. N.D.. Second Edition. Hardcover. Covers show moderate wear with stress lines along external hinges, rubbed corners, and curled spine ends as well as some surface rubing (does little to effect gilt cover decoration) . Binding is weak near the front and the front hinge is held by less than 2" of mull. Text shows scattered patches of foxing effecting maybe 1/4 of the pages but does not impact readability; N/D (1843) A scarce and desired title, this is the second and definitive edition of "the book" on The Horse by one of the men who helped to influence Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. This is the first book in a series of all-encompassing titles by the author on the breeding, care, and medical needs of livestock. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 448 pages .
