Illustrator: Tony Pyrzakowski -- Dustwrapper. publisher's note, author's note, foreword by author's father and acknowledgements. Dark green coloured endpapers. Bottle green boards with white coloured titles to the spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, by Tony Pyrzakowski, with yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The story of an American soldier captured in New Guinea interned in the Philippines. Story is told by Douglas Valentine which is based on recollections of his father, Douglas Valentine Snr. Shelf wear evident to the bottom edges of the book and the head and the heel of the spine slightly bumped. Slight dust marks to the top paper edge. On the free front end page, top right-hand corner, there is a erasure mark as well as a black marker mark. The top edge of the dustwrapper is slightly crinkled. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
