London: Odhams Press Limited 1933. Small 8vo. First Edition. 247 pp. Bound in recent half scarlet morocco over marbled boards with raised bands, gilt-stamped devices and lettering to spine. Externally in fine condition. Light spots to first half of the pages and fore-edge. Collection of 12 short stories; unusually, most of these are tales of fate and the supernatural, with comparatively little detective content. This collection is most notable for the first appearance in a book of Christie's short story "The Witness for the Prosecution". . Near Fine. Half Morocco. First Edition. 1933.
Synopsis
The Hound of Death and Other Stories was published in the UK in 1933. It contains the following short stories: The Hound of Death, The Red Signal, The Fourth Man, The Gipsy, The Lamp, Wireless, The Witness for the Prosecution, The Mystery of the Blue Jar, The Strange Case of Sir Arthur Carmichael, The Call of Wings, The Last Seance and S.O.S.This collection has never been published in the United States although the short stories have all appeared there in other collections.

Prices are in sterling, and are subject to availability. We can accept bank transfers in Sterling, Euros, US and AUS dollars. We ship priority shipping as standard, and pack our books well. Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book. In the unlikely event of an incorrect description, a full refund will be provided, but please e-mail/telephone first, and within seven days of receipt of the book. We are happy to comply to the EU's rules on distance selling. All books are published in London and 8vo unless stated, and remain my property until paid for in full.
