Indented decoration on front. Spine is crushed top and bottom, also faded. Corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Black endpapers. Tanning to first and last few pages. Some pages have brown marks at the top but text is mostly clean. Tightly bound, hinges good. No dust jacket.

Tyndall (1820-93) was an Irish naturalist, physicist, mathematician and mountaineer as well as a professor of natural history at the Royal Institution. Tyndall went to Switzerland to study glaciers, and co-wrote On the structure and motion of glaciers with T.H. Huxley. Along with Huxley and Darwin, Tyndall was instrumental in helping the public to accept a modern, scientific approach. BMC, XXV, 956.
