Guide for "either the scholar or the traveler" to the amazing excavations and reconstructions at Knossos, Crete by Sir Arthur Evans (1851 - 1941). The ruins, spread over some 5 acres, revealed a palace, artifacts and some 3000 clay tablets of two distinct scripts dubbed Linear A (or Minoan script) and Linear B. Using references in the contemporary cultures of Egypt, Mycenae, and Asia Minor, Agnes Vaughan (1887 - 1974) recreates Minoan life in the Palace of Knossos. 240 pgs w/photos, 2 parts: I, The Great Discovery; and, II, Mnoan Life & Customs..
