London, Methuen, 1928.. FIRST EDITION FIRST IMPRESSION 1928, PUBLISHER'S DELUXE LEATHER BINDING IN ORIGINAL BOX, 185 x 120 mm, 7¼ x 4¾ inches, illustrated throughout in line by Ernest H. Shepard, pages: xi, 178, bound in deep rose pink leather, double ruled gilt border to upper cover with floral motifs at corners, gilt illustration in centre (Christopher Robin and Eeyore), ornate gilt illustration to spine with 5 figures from the stories, gilt lettered spine, all edges gilt, pink endpapers with silhouette illustration, silk marker. No inscriptions, faintest browning to front endpaper, otherwise a Fine clean crisp copy, lacking plain glassine wrapper. Housed in the original grey cardboard box with a printed label to top and side. Box labels slightly foxed, a touch of wear to box corners, no splits. Methuen and Co. published 5,000 of the deluxe edition of The House at Pooh Corner - 1500 in blue, 1500 in green and 2000 in red leather.
