Burgundy coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with burgundy in gilt coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of the author to the rear panel. Two people are isolated in a dilapidated country mansion – the owner, Josie, confined to bed due to illness; and, McGreevy – bloody crusader for a United Ireland. In brilliant and ferocious vignettes, O'Brien charts the two opinions of the characters and offers the heated argument that serves as a parable for the dilemma which lies at the soul of Ireland today. Rubbing of the book edges with fading to the top and bottom edges of the back strip and front panel. Previous owners name to the top right hand corner of the free front end page.
