About This Item
New York: Horace Liveright, 1929. Fifth printing. Slight lean; spine darkened a shade; very good.. 8vo, 328pp; original illustrated boards and delightfully whimsical map endpapers (by G.T. Hartmann). A charming work in the lost art of literary humor. This copy bears an inscription from the author on the half-title: "For Mr. Will Brown, Kindly give this matter your attention, Will Cuppy"; on the facing verso is a second inscription from December 1929 signed "Mary" to "Uncle Billie" leading us to conclude that Mary had the book specially signed for her uncle as a Christmas present.
