Price-clipped dust jacket, old price sticker on the front flap. 125 pages. Inscribed on the front free endpaper by the author's son, the 14th Duke of Bedford (Henry Robin Ian Russell, 1940-2003), also known as Marquess of Tavistock: "I hope you enjoy my father's book, Tavistock." Illustrations and dust jacket design by ffolkes. John Robert Russell (1917-2002), 13th duke of Bedford, succeeded to the title in 1953 and commercialized his father's estate, including Woburn Abbey, to pay the heavy duties. The venture was very successful and both he and Woburn Abbey became well known to the British and tourists from around the world. By the time of the Duke's death, 1.5 million tourists were visiting Woburn Abbey annually..
