Dayton, OH: A. F. Hochwalt, 1934. Hunting dog classic; Lytle was a dog breeder & trainer, gun dog editor at Field & Stream and author of several books on bird dogs & hunting. Later printing INSCRIBED by Lytle on the back of the frontispiece: "Hoping you may find this useful & an interesting reminder of Solon Springs -- [signature] Sept 26th 1935." Solon Springs is a town in northern Wisconsin on the Upper Saint Croix Lake, where Lytle judged amateur hunting dog field trials at least once in the late 1920s. Brown hardcover, black titling, black & dark brown decoration. Light wear to book, jacket chipped & lightly spotted with minor creasing; ink spots & insect nibbling to page edges, light tanning to pages. Text clean; xxxi, blank, 224 pages, b/w photo plates.. Inscribed by the Author. Later Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Small Octavo.
