About This Item
Los Angeles::: Black Sparrow Press,,, 1974... First Printing of the First US Edition. A Near Fine copy in a bright, Near Fine unclipped dust jacket. This is one of only 750 copies. This collection of writings contains works from the second half of Gertrude Stein's writing career. The pieces range from the most elliptical to the most easily understood. The great forms in which she had cast her writing and to which she gave new life and significance had accomplished what she set out to achieve in the realms of narration, portraits, poetry and plays. As is evidenced in this collection, she also experimented with autobiography as well as newer possibilities of the novel, short story and historical pieces.
