About This Item

NY & Chicago: Ernst Kaufmann, 1905. First English Language Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Possibly the first or certainly an early printing of the English translation of this title. Small 8vo red cloth with colorful, nearly full size cover illustration showing an indigenous, almost American Indian-like man in colorful clothing (bare from waist up) & feather headdress, looking through the woods at a wild llama. 90pp. Four color plates inside including frontispiece. The ffep has been clipped along the fore edge, but in such a way we wonder if it was done at the bindery. Originally published in German. Very scarce in the original editions.
