New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1943. 1st US Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good+ (Mylar sealed). Red cloth covers with black sp. lettering, no obvious faults. xvii + 198 + 24 (plates of palm prints) + vi + colophon, also spotted 1 text ill.; end-gutters tanned, light tanning to end-paper edges, 5 cm thin gutter opening before half-title, otherwise no obvious faults being clean and unmarked. Unclipped jacket in protective sleeve as acquired, clean but extensive edge and joint rubbing sp. ends chipped, top with 1 cm loss at maximum. Not palmistry in quite the conventional sense being thoroughly grounded on scientific physiological knowledge and theorising. It is significant that Q-sort inventor Stephenson was more than happy to provide an enthusiastic Preface. 14.5 cm x 21.5 cm
