The copyright page contradicts the title page stating that this copy was "printed in the United States" with copyright held by Duffield and Company. Green cloth covers with colophon of publishers to front cover and titling to spine, School vignette on front cover and contemporary school presentation bookplate on fep. Arc Bib 11991 Retrospective account of the author's first trip to the Arctic in the sealer "Viking" 1882, to study animal life and the physical features of the arctic sea. Descriptions of the voyage in Greenland Sea, of seals, whales, polar bears and hunting adventures, and the drift of the "Viking" in Denmark Strait.
