About This Item

iv+95 pages with map and tables. Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 1/2") bound in original publisher's wrappers. National Museum of Canada Bulletin number 195. First edition. The following study is a modified version of the author's doctoral dissertation presented to the Graduate Committee of the University of New Mexico. The study is based on field-work conducted amon the Mistassini Indians during 1953-4 and on library research. The ethnographic data collected in the field form the basis for the description of the contemporary situation among the Mistassini. Published sources were used to supplement this information and to gain historical depth. Since there is a paucity o information regarding the Mistassini, it was necessary to use data from surrounding groups. Condition: Corners bumped, old sticker stain on front wrapper else a very good copy.
