About This Item

Florence: Giunti. Good in Very Good dust jacket. 2003. Limited Edition. Leather. 8809034724 . An oversized folio leather clamshell box (46 cm, 18") a booklet of 213 pages, and 72 plates, loose in the box. Limited edition of 998 of which this is 492. This is a beautifully printed reproduction of the timeless works by da Vinci and his circle collected in the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice, including the famous image of the Vitruvian Man and the Portrait of a Man in Red Chalk (probably a self-portrait of da Vinci) , among many others. The drawings consist of 26 works by da Vinci, 33 from his school, and 13 by other sources, all printed on handmade paper. Accompanied by a well-researched book of 213 pages, and housed in a magnificent folio leather box with gilt titles. Condition of the set is good. The box has very minor shelf wear and the booklet is in very good condition. Five of the plates have remains of mounting tape in the margins of the verso, one has a short scar into the plate itself [13 V (141V], otherwise very nice. Scarce in commerce. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall .
