The card is signed in ink by the author, William Cullen Bryant, and dated January 4, 1878. Cobalt blue cloth covers with gold-decorated corners. Shelf wear and rubbing to the spine edges and corners. The corners are rubbed through. There is a small crack to the text block in the middle, but the text block is sound and the pages are tightly bound and clean. A few text pages have light spotting. Illustrated with numerous woodcut. .
