During the war she was evacuated but within a week had to be fetched home. She spent nights in an Anderson shelter as the Blitz raged over London. But, as she describes her happy childhood, we can easily understand why, for her, home was always best. D/w has a short tear (10mm) to inside front flap; else a fine copy, in a near fine d/w, of a VERY SCARCE first edition SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover.
