After graduating from high school in Arkansas City, KS, the author joined the Navy V-5 Flight Training program, passed the flight and ground portions and was in the Navy as an Aviator in 1943. Assigned to PBYs he flew in North Africa and Gibraltar, and was in England in January of 1945 for VE Day and reassignment back to the USA for Pacific duty training only to have VJ Day stop his orders and allow him to leave th service to return to farming in Kansas. A well documented book on becoming and being a pilot in WWII. A clean very presentable copy.
