Orig. cloth. Very good. Limited to 250 numbered copies, of which this is numbered 179. This work originally appeared as a series of magazine articles in THE WESTERN REVIEW AND MISCELLANEOUS MAGAZINE in 1819-21. Rafinesque (1793-1840) traveled widely in the United States and settled for a time in Kentucky, teaching at Transylvania University in Louisville, before retiring to Philadelphia and self-publishing much of his later work.
