Amsterdam: F. Houttuyn, 1747. Seven engraved plates from Icones Biblicae. Engraved by Johannes (Jan) Luyken after F. Houttuyn. It is unclear which edition these are from, but they are from either the 1729 edition publised by J. Cóvens en C. Mortier, or more likely from the 1747 edition published by Houttuyn. Most of the plates are in excellent condition, but there is a touch of edgewear to a couple. Creasing to one plate. Crease to the fold of each plate. The captions to each plate are printed in Each plate is 510 x 410 mm (20 x 16¼ inches). Jan Lukyen (1649–1712) was a Dutch poet, illustrator and engraver. "David was dancing before the Lord" II Samuel VI V14. "Abram and Lot pitch their tent" Genesis XIII v3. "The tower of Babel" Genesis XI v2. "The Jews build Jerusalem" Nehemie III "Moses drew water from the rock" Numbers XX "The rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram" Numbers XVI v30 four engravings of Solomon's temple on one sheet. La plupart des assiettes sont en excellent état, mais il y a une touche d'usure des bords à un couple. Pliage à une assiette. Pli au pli de chaque assiette.
