* On the 25th of April 1988, a Jerusalem court sentenced John Demjanjuk, accused of being a concentration camp guard nicknamed "Ivan the Terrible", to death for crimes against humanity including the slaughter of 850,000 jews in the Treblinka gas chambers. Demjanjuk, a Ukrainian who obtained U.S. citizenship after the war, denied that he was Ivan the Terrible or that he had ever worked in a Nazi death camp. His conviction was based largely on the eyewitness testimony of a few survivors of Treblinka who had managed to escape inn the summer of 1943, forty five years before......... Small hardcover book in very good condition. Black cloth covered boards, spine with gold titling. Pages are very good, clean unmarked. Dust jacket is good but has some scuffing at corners, edges. Minor surface wear. Very nice copy ready for history student, law student , etc.........
