London: William Heinemann, 1938. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Anti-Hitler play performed in Washington DC in 1935, as Hitler occupied the Rhineland. This, the English edition, follows the London premiere of the play in 1938 as Hitler occupied Austria and bombed Spain. Signed by 27 members of the cast, including leads Raymond Massey and Tamara Geva on the fly verso and half title. Book very good, dustjacket soiled and missing top end of dustjacket spine, plus minor losses here and there around edges.
