About This Item
Charlotte, N.C.: Stone Publishing Co., 1917. First Edition . Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo. 88 pages + 4 pages of biographical information. Hardcover bound in quarter brown cloth with brown paper boards, lettering in blue. Ex-library edition with white ink markings on spine, stamps on top and bottom edges of text block, book plate on front pastedown, an embossed stamp on pages 13 and 51, and library markings on the copyright page and the table of contents. There is a patch of roughness on the rear pastdown from the removal of the checkout pocket. Covers show moderate wear to edges and corners with bumping to the corners and the headcap and foot of the spine. Panels are rubbed. Inner front hinge starting. Front endpaper is lacking. Ownership bookplate on front pastdown (in addition to the library plate). Contents are clean and bright for the most part, with light foxing on and near the illustrations. Illustrated with sepia photographs. Despite the described flaws, this is a very decent copy of a scarce book.

About Pages Past Used and Rare Books
Pages Past is a small used & rare bookshop located a few blocks from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since 1996 we have been serving the Triad community as well as customers from around the world. We have around 15-20,000 volumes in our shop. We specialize in North Carolina, Virginia, Civil War, Old Leather, Christianity, Eastern and Western Philosophies, and the simply unusual. We very likely have the oldest books in Greensboro; we keep a nice selection of antiquarian volumes and scholarly books.
