New York: Charles Scriber & Co., 1866. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavos. xii, [4], 430; 457, [2] pages. Hardcovers bound in brown cloth with spine titles in gilt and with a gilt bust of Homer on the front cover of each volume. Moderate rubbing and wear to the bindings. Volume I has a couple of gouges in the cloth on the spine near the author's name. Spine ends a bit frayed, and the spine on Volume II has some uneven fading. Inner hinges secure. There are two inscriptions in each volume dated 1866 and 1900. Text is a bit toned and is generally clean.
