Chester, printed and published by John Gresty, Eastgate Row, circa 1865.. Title continued: with a plan of the city, descriptive letterpress, a useful business directory & a brief sketch of Eaton Hall. Circa 1865, oblong, approximately 355 x 270 mm, 14 x 10½ inches, 8 lithograph plates including folding frontispiece, plus plan of Chester, 18 pages of text plus 12 pages of adverts at rear, bound in the original publisher's printed thin card covers, pictorial upper cover and adverts to lower cover, red cloth spine. Covers soiled and dusty with repairs to edges, title page and following plan have tips of corners missing, not affecting images, folding frontispiece has neat small repair to top of fold, not affecting image, margins of plates a little dusty, a few small closed tears to upper margins, mostly repaired, a little pale offset from plates to text, occasional light fox spot, otherwise a good copy of a scarce book. 1 copy only listed in Library Hub Discover in the British Library.
