At the beginning of the text there is a section of black-and-white illustrations and photographs  some taken by Lewis Carroll himself. The text is illustrated with black-and-white reproductions of drawings, some by Tennial, but, there are other illustrators also represented. Red coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Lewis Carroll is most famous for the two books of "Alice" adventures. But, he was also a superb nonsense writer and imaginative novelist of the 19th century. In this book the editor touches on all of these facets of the authors output along with superb illustrations from across time. Softening of the back strip edges with bumping to the lower book corners. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. Creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with a small chip to the top left hand corner of the front panel.
