About This Item

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell Co.. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1889. First English-Language. Hardcover. A very clean and entirely sound copy of the first English language issue of this title, first published in Danish in 1888. The only inscription is a handsome prior owner's signature on the front endpaper, dated 1890. The spine has a little wear at the top and boottom of the spine, but the binding is in quite good condition for its age. There are a few light-colored splotches on the front cover, where something appears to have bleached it in an irregular pattern. A clear archival mylar jacket now protects the book and ameliorates this flaw. .
